We’re going to assume that you’re an Interior Design enthusiast - or at least somewhat interested if you’ve found yourself reading this blog post. But, whether you’re interested in hiring an Interior Designer, or just curious about the industry, we’re going to shed some light on the process of working with a designer!
Hiring an Interior Designer - or any contractor for your home can feel really daunting - we get it! It’s scary to take the leap into the unknown. But working with an Interior Designer actually has HUGE benefits. Here are a few:
You’ll Save TIME and Money.
We all know time IS money - but we truly save you both. When looking to update your home, you might feel at a loss for which websites to look at, shops to visit, or feel unsure about how to get your hands on something unique, vintage or custom. That’s where your Interior Designer comes in. We are familiar with the industry professionals, key vendors, makers, contractors and more - we have the tools to turn your dream home into a reality.
In addition to that, Interior Designers not only source, style and plan your space, but we measure it too. Measurements are key to making sure that each item fits the way it should in your home, and you don’t have to worry about ordering something, having it not fit properly and then having to ship it back. That would be totally annoying! And on that note….
We Take on the Headaches.
Coordinating updates, deliveries, vendors, shipments and more can be a total pain in the ass. With an Interior Designer, we can be on-site to receive shipments, oversee installs, contractor work AND we coordinate all of the moving parts behind the scenes so that you don’t have to worry one bit about your place coming together.
We Take Your Inspiration/Dreams and Make Them a Reality.
Sometimes bringing your Pinterest board to life, while also feeling like home can be hard to achieve. That’s where we excel! We step in and take your dreams and bring them to life in your home. Then, designing and furnishing your dream home becomes fun and stress-free. With an Interior Designer handling a major project like that, you’re able to be excited about the updates, the progress and the space as it all comes together!
So you might be reading all of the above and think, “That sounds great! but, what’s the process like?”
For our Full-Service Design clients,
the process looks a bit like this:
We will meet with you for a consultation. It’s important for us to spend quality time with our clients and really get to know them so that we can craft a space that truly feels like home. It’s almost important for us to spend time in the space to get an idea of the layout, the flow and the scope of the project.
We spend time putting together mood boards for your home - taking some of your inspiration and our design vision, and creating something exciting to review together.
We source. Once the initial mood boards are approved, we get to sourcing and scouting for the items in your updated home.
We order! Once items are approved, we order, schedule shipments, oversee any building, contract work, updates that need to be made.
We style! Once your items have arrived, we also style your home with floral arrangements, textiles (if you’re newly moving in, we can also coordinate and order dishware, towels, and other household necessities), art, plants and a variety of decor to make it feel cozy, homey and personal.
Of course, this is somewhat simplifying the process but we wanted to shed some light on the overall experience!
