Our next Artist Spotlight is an international feature all the way from our neighbors to the north — Vancouver, Canada! If you’ve been following for any time at all, you’d know that we LOVE flowers. We were so inspired by The Wild Bunch and all of their incredible, textured creations. If you’re a floral fan, their feed is an absolute dream! We thought the world could use a bit more flower power, so we were so glad to connect with The Wild Bunch and share a bit of their creative genius with you!

Hi Wild Bunch team! Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background:
Hi! The Wild Bunch was founded by Nassi and Alexandra in 2014. Nassi was working in arts/events and Alexandra in hospitality. We met working at Wildebeest Restaurant and started discussing our plans and goals.
Describe your style as an artist:
We are completely self-taught. Our medium is flowers and foliage. Our style would be described as freestyle, allowing our ingredients to lead the design and working strategically with natural elements to create a look.
Where do you find inspiration?
In nature, through the ingredients, we are able to source. Also through our clients who give us interesting jobs and design challenges.
What does your workspace look like?
For floral design, we work from our studio and shop and on-location. As business owners, we work from home and just about anywhere!
Describe your space and personal style within it.
Our space is clean and compact. We are surrounded by flowers that can be any and all colors so we like to keep our space more neutral and allow the flowers to pop and speak for themselves as natural decor. We have statement elements of pink marble in our studio that elevates the space. We also have vases of water everywhere so that clean look of clear glass and water has become a part of our look. We like to burn candles and incense and play music to suit our moods.
Who are some of your favorite artists? Musicians? People that inspire you?
We are always inspired by other artists, especially in ceramics as there is such a symbiotic relationship between floral arranging and the vessel. Our neighbor and friend, ceramic artist Janaki Larsen is the epitome of the west coast, natural, earthy and timeless works.
Where can we find you guys?
You can purchase our designs through our online shop or in-store in Vancouver, at The Wild Bunch Flower Shop located at 1525 West 6th Ave.
We also hold workshops throughout the year at our shop. Follow us on Instagram to stay up to date on the latest!
What are the next steps in your career?
We are in a teaching and training mode as we take a step back from daily design on the floor and focus on running a great business. Nassi had a baby in 2019 and Al is having a baby in 2020 so taking more time for ourselves and our families is next for us.
