When an old friend reached out recently looking for ideas to style her daughter's bedroom, we knew putting together a mood board and E-Design would be the best and easiest way to give them an overall design plan to follow. Lucie is twelve and wants a sophisticated desert-chic bedroom (no more kid stuff) and gave us these style words: shibori, mud cloth, cacti, woven texture and gold accents. She was off to a great start with a few pieces she'd already purchased. With those items and her style words as inspo, we created a look that incorporates textured materials like jute, rattan and rope with shades of indigo and warm desert tones like pink, red and copper.

We're giving client Vanessa's kitchen a Coastal California Restyle inspired by Christine Flynn's framed photography print "McWay Falls". The scenic photo of the popular Big Sur landmark feels fresh and modern- adding a punch of color and moodiness to the room's bright white walls, wood floors and dark green countertops. Stay tuned for the Before + After where we'll show you how we mixed wood and metal elements with shades of gray, blue and green for a laid back, west coast vibe.

Dark + Moody Dining Room
The first day of Fall is officially behind us and we are beyond excited that our favorite cozy season is finally here! The weather may not have gotten the memo just yet, but we couldn't be more ready for football parties, hot bourbon cider, pumpkin carving and opening up our homes to our family and friends. We've rounded up our favorite dining room decor that will bring a moody edge to your space. We're trading in the typical colors of Autumn (think orange and brown tones) for deep shades of crimson and indigo. We top off the look with rose gold and brass accents for shine and add modern contrast with black and white. From a dark and spooky Halloween party to a sultry Valentine's dinner spent at home, this high-drama look is beautiful and versatile enough to carry you all the way through the holiday season!
